Peter van der Wees
Managing partner
In the business for almost 30 years and still curious and looking for new challenges when it comes to everything that concerns intellectual property. Peter is known to take a pro-active approach when it comes to protecting the business interest of his clients, which they universally appreciate.
A man of theory and practice. Peter advises clients on IP strategy, their trademark and design portfolios in various countries, and how to enforce them. He does this in a committed and proactive way. When it comes to enforcement, prevention is always better than cure.
Marloes Smilde
Trademark and Design Attorney
Marloes graduated with a Master’s degree in Civil Law in 2010, worked for several years at a Dutch IP firm, after which she gained experience abroad. Globetrotter with a heart for the profession and not averse to a complex international issue in the field of intellectual property.
Before making the switch to Markedly, Marloes worked as a trainee trademark attorney at a well-known Dutch boutique firm, managing the IP portfolio of various Dutch and international companies. The legal experience she gained in Italy and Australia came in handy.
Marloes is now primarily involved in assisting Markedly’s international clients. She does this with dedication and enthusiasm, like everything she does.
Marloes successfully finished the professional education for Trademark and Design Attorney and is a Benelux and European trademark attorney. She is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and MARQUES. Within MARQUES, she is part of the European Trade Mark Law and Practice Team, representing the interests of brand owners in relation to developments in European law.
Monique Granneman
Senior Trademark Attorney
Focused on client needs, proactive, analytical and hands-on, that is Monique at work. She is most in her element when she can analyze brand portfolios and advise strategically and offer creative solutions. Monique also likes to visit her clients, always curious about the products and the day-to-day operations of the companies she advises.
30 years in the profession and still enthusiastic! What she finds most enjoyable about the profession is the diversity of clients and their products or services and the different approaches to IP protection that come with them.
She worked for many years, among others, for the market leader in the Netherlands as a senior consultant and managing partner, and assisted a variety of clients in her career, ranging from start-ups to large multinationals. She therefore has extensive experience in various sectors including banking, medical, technology, tourism, media and communications, and mobility. She has also taught many junior attorneys the ins and outs of the profession.
Monique is a recognized Benelux and European trademark attorney and an active member of various professional organizations, such as BMM, ECTA, Marques, and INTA. She is the chair of the BMM Dutch Event Committee, which annually organizes two webinars and a live event for the (Dutch) BMM members. In addition, she is a member of the Internet Committee of the European professional association ECTA and has previously also been part of the ECTA Harmonization Committee and the EUIPO Link Committee, where she held annual consultations with the board of the European Trademark Office (EUIPO) regarding the Office’s strategic plans.
Monique enjoys travelling and active holidays with her partner and her two (now adult) children. Furthermore, she loves sports and can often be found on the padel court.

Rosalie van Rooijen
Paralegal
Rosalie van Rooijen earned her bachelor’s degree in law in Utrecht and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Internet Law & Intellectual Property at VU University Amsterdam. Before joining Markedly, she worked at a Dutch law firm and completed an internship at a well-known legal publisher specializing in intellectual property.
Rosalie is part of our legal support team and speaks Dutch and English.
